Need a Mortgage for your Las Vegas Condo?
May 11, 2026More Reasons to Live on the Las Vegas Strip
The sheer volume of construction going on in and around the Las Vegas Strip continues to astound us. If you like to live in the midst of the action, there are more reasons than ever to consider buying a condo right downtown. There are already some fantastic newer high rise homes and luxury lofts to choose with more are on the way.
The SLS Las Vegas (the highly anticipated $415 million dollar renovation of the Sahara) recently opened with 80,000 sq ft of completely renovated space. The original Sahara, once the desert icon of cool, has come back to life as a fresh, new luxury hotel with an updated panache, outstanding fine dining and some of the city’s best nightclub entertainment. The residences at the Allure are incredibly undervalued, in my opinion, being located just opposite the SLS.
Later this year, Malaysia-based Genting Berhad will start construction on Resorts World Las Vegas – an 87-acre resort across from the Wynn and next door to the Sky Las Vegas condos. With an estimated cost of $4 billion, Phase 1 of this new resort will house a 175,000 sq ft casino, 3,000 new hotel rooms, 30 new restaurants, a massive aquarium, an indoor waterpark, rooftop observation deck and a Panda Bear exhibit – all made to resemble a Chinese village. Eventually this 87-acre urban space will house four high rise towers. It has an estimated total cost of $7 billion.
By the same token, MGM Resorts International recently partnered with Cirque du Soleil and an investment firm to build a permanent, 33-acre outdoor concert venue called ‘City of Rock.’ This event park will have a seating capacity of 80,000 and will be located at the southwest corner of Sahara Ave and the strip. This development promises to draw even more tourists to Las Vegas and should be a boon for the Allure tower as well as Sky Las Vegas, Turnberry Place and Turnberry Towers.
But wait, that’s not all. More than 60 Las Vegas restaurants have either just opened, are scheduled to open or have been renovated and redesigned. Here are my top five favorite restaurants on the strip.
Crush: Eat Drink Love is at the MGM Grand. This is a casual atmosphere that celebrates communal dining and where chef-created plates are mostly made for sharing. Raise a glass from a choice of more than 300 curated wines, beer and spirits in an atrium atmosphere that imitates the natural light of the sun.
Wing Lei is Michelin Star awarded Chinese restaurant at the Wynn Las Vegas. This is an elegant fine dining experience that’s a feast for eyes as well as the stomach. Choose from an artfully blended fusion of Cantonese, Szechuan and Shanghai influenced dishes with many vegetarian options.
Yusho is a contemporary casual Japanese restaurant at the Monte Carlo. It features tapas plates of grilled “street food,” craft cocktails and wine pairings. Travel & Leisure Magazine named it one of the best new restaurants in Las Vegas in 2014.
The Blind Pig is located inside the Panorama Towers, just off the strip in downtown Las Vegas. It features counter-ordered, seasonal artisan food and specialty market items. There’s also a lounge that opens after 5 pm.
Eat Drink Wild Las Vegas is a downhome gem inside the Ogden Hotel. It isn’t just a restaurant, it’s part of the farm-to-table movement and features farm fresh produce, gluten-free pizzas and other delectably “primitive” foods. Grab a kale cupcake or register for their special pizza-making class.
Between world-class restaurants, top notch entertainment, and high-class shopping, you may never want to leave the Strip! And I should know — my team and I spend nearly every day in and around the Las Vegas Strip, so you know you’re in good hands with our expertise. We’d love to help you find your piece of the Strip.
